[UPDATE] Epic Games Reveals Rewards For December Fortnite Login Issues
Update 2, 1/05/2021: Epic Games revealed what rewards Fortnite players would get after it went offline for several hours in December.
Game Informer Epic Games reported that Fortnite had been down for several hours due to server problems on December 29, and it was restored shortly thereafter. Epic Games promised reward to make up for any downtime. Although the company did not announce what the rewards were at that time, they promised to compensate for the downtime. Update 1, 12/29/21, 7:40 p.m. Eastern:Fortnite is now back online, after having been offline for several hours because of server problems. Fortnite’s official Twitter account, Fortnite Status, confirmed that the problem was fixed and promised to make good on the inconvenience. We will have more information on the reward next week.

Original Story, 12/29/21 If you’ve been having trouble logging into Fortnite today, you’re not alone. Epic Games confirms that Fortnite battle royale has problems with matchmaking and login.
You will be greeted with this message if you attempt to launch Fortnite matches at 02:07 Eastern time.

Epic doesn’t share an explanation for the outage but promises to provide info when a solution becomes available. In the meantime, if you were hoping to rack up Victory Royale’s in the game’s ongoing Winterfest event, you’re out of luck for the time being. The same is true if you’re looking to blast foes as Boba Fett to celebrate today’s premiere of the character’s new Disney+ series.
