Update: Capcom’s Resident Evil Showcase Takes Place Today

Update, 10/18/22:

Capcom hinted last month that the company would host Resident Evil’s showcase. Now, it has announced that this will happen on October 20. This Thursday. The showcase begins at 3 p.m. (PT)/6 p.m. ET. ET. It will contain information about Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Original Story, 9/16/22

Capcom revealed in October that it would host Resident Evil 4 Remake-focused shows. It will discuss Resident Evil Village’s forthcoming DLC, The Summers’ Expansion. Speaking of Resident Evil 4 Remake: Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, the producer confirmed that it will be available on PlayStation 4 as well. GameSpot. 

Capcom revealed Resident Evil 4 Remake at a PlayStation State of Play event in June. It was only announced for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series SX/S and PC. There was no mention of older-generation consoles such as the PS4 or Xbox One. The company now confirms that Resident Evil 4 Remake will launch on March 24, 2023 on PS4. However, it is not known if Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available on Xbox One. 

Capcom provided more information about what you can expect from the Winters Expansion DLC Village during Tokyo Game Show via a PlayStation Blog post. 

Tsuyoshi Kanna, Capcom’s producer, writes that “First, we’d like to get things started with the new story DLC ‘Shadows of Rose’.” Ethan Winters was just a child when Rose saved her. His own life was at stake. Rose will be fighting for her survival 16 years after events occurred in the original story. It takes place within the Realm of Consciousness of the Megamycete. You will find many monsters and traps in this realm. Rose is limited to carrying a pistol, some ammo and a first-aid med.

Rose is a poor woman with few resources and must use all her power to free herself from the curse she longs to end. Rose’s unusual talents can help her stop enemies and destroy any obstacles she encounters. Rose’s ability can be used to target weaknesses in enemies by taking care.

PlayStation Blog has additional information about The Winters’ Expansion. This includes the Third-Person Mode, the Additional Mercenaries Orders, and many other details. 

On October 28, the Winters’ Expansion will be released and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition (which includes DLC) will be made available.
