Ubisoft’s Open-World Star Wars Game Is Out Next Year

Today during the Xbox Showcase, we finally got a look at the open-world Star Wars game Ubisoft has been working on for the last few years. Massive Entertainment (a Ubisoft developer known for The Division and The Division 2) is developing the game. It didn’t include any gameplay. Instead it relied on CGI cutscenes, which showed a young girl on the run, trying to escape a bounty-hunter. Watch it below.

YouTube’s description of this trailer provides more information about the video game.

“Experience the first-ever open world Star Wars game, set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi,” the description says. Discover iconic as well as new planets throughout the galaxy. Kay Vess and Nix, a young scoundrel who is seeking to escape from her past, are willing to risk everything. Fight, steal, and outwit your way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as you join the galaxy’s most wanted.”

Ubisoft will be showcasing the title tomorrow, but we won’t know much about it until then. Check out the streaming schedule for a complete list of all showcases in this month.
