Ubisoft Delays Next Big Division 2 Update To 2022

Ubisoft announces that The Division 2 will not be returning until 2022. 

The new method of delay is called a “new” Ubisoft blog postThe current status of The Division 2 and the future of The Division 2 are discussed, as well as the delayed Season 8. According to the post, The Division 2’s next title update is one of its most ambitious and the team will need more development time. 

This title update will be one of our most ambitious to date,” the post reads. “We remain confident that this content will bring an exciting experience to our players and pave the way for the future of The Division 2 with future updates coming in 2022. That being said, and to make sure we deliver this content on par with our vision, we have made the decision to move our new season, game mode, and associated content release to February 2022.” 

Ubisoft claims that this extra time will enable The Division 2’s development team to produce the highest quality content possible in the next season. However, the ongoing live-service game will still be supported. 

The blog post also details “the road ahead” for The Divison 2. The blog post begins by restoring the Intelligence Annex. On a monthly basis, and until the reveal of the next big update coming in 2022, Ubisoft says it will release “dedicated in-depth articles to detail key features and changes.” The first episode will be about the Specialization Revamp coming in 2022 and it debuts this Thursday. 

A special in-game event to introduce fan-favorite global event, rewards, and an apparel campaign will be held when Season 7 closes down this December. Ubisoft will announce more details closer to December. 

Ubisoft in January will provide details about the forthcoming season and an update.
