Thunderful Games Announces SteamWorld Headhunter, A 3D Sequel To SteamWorld Dig 2

Thunderful today held a showcase that featured upcoming titles from the publisher, including The Gunk (which has a new December release date), and Wavetale, a Stadia-exclusive underwater adventure which is due to be released today. A brief glimpse at SteamWorld Headhunter was the final part of the SteamWorld series, which concluded the presentation.

Two robotic cowboys sporting impressive’staches face off in the teaser, which you can view below. It’s desert town at high noon and everything in between. One automaton appears to have lost the shootout and, in doing so, his head. The victor examines the condition of the victim, but finds its head detached. He is then able to fly at it with deadly intent. 

Thunderful isn’t saying much about Headhunter other than it’s a direct follow-up to “the (literally) earth-shattering events of SteamWorld Dig 2” and will be a full 3D, co-op action adventure experience. In honor of the announcement of Headhunter, SteamWorld Dig 2 is currently free to download on Steam and GOG starting today and lasting until tomorrow, November 11 at 11 a.m. Eastern.
