Thor: Love and Thunder deleted scene reveal: A Marvel vacation from hell

Anyone who saw Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder this summer knows that Mr. Odinson and Peter Quill’s post-Avengers: EndgameIt didn’t turn out as planned. Star-Lord could use some tender care while grieving the loss of Gamora and bouncing back to his family, the Guardians of the Galaxy. But, with the help of an existential Thor, everything was not going to be so easy. This is the new deleted scene taken from the forthcoming Love and Thunder Blu-ray, premiering exclusively on Polygon, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have an even clearer idea of how Quill developed an eye twitch as he barreled toward 2023’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
You can see the entire scene above. Quill pleads for Thor’s assistance on a planet supposed to be relaxing. This turns out to have been an all-out conflict. Waititi managed to get this scene so far that there were practical battle effects appearing in every direction, and a Korg voice muttering in the background. And if the scene had actually made it into the movie, it would have been more of the more darkly comedic bits in MCU history — yes, there entrails in this minute-long scene.
While Thor: Love and ThunderOn Thursday, Disney Plus will release the Blu-ray. The digital release is set for September 8, and the Blu-ray promises deleted scenes as well as other special extras. It will be available on shelves from Sept. 27.
