Things to know before starting Genshin Impact’s new trading card game
The card game train won’t slow down for anything. What’s the case? Its latest high-profile passenger: Genshin Impact. Yes. The incandescently successful genre-spanning, live service game also has a card version. Called Genius Invokation TCG, it’s a permanent minigame rolled out in Genshin Impact’s update 3.3.
It is a card-building game that you could think of as Gwent: Teyvat Edition. But Genius Invocation is a little different than the Continent’s favorite barroom past time: It also features elements, dice, and a duel with Little Timmie. How to unlock Genshin Impact TCG
The new game features are just as exciting, however. Genshin ImpactThe introduction quest and adventure rank requirements for card games are minimal. The quest, called “Come Try Genius Invokation TCG!,” automatically pops up in your journal if you meet the following requirements:
- It is possible to have Adventure rank 32 and higher.
- You’ve completed the Archon Quest Prologue, Act III, Song of the Dragon and Freedom.
How to Play Genshin Impact Genius Invokation CCG
Each Genius Invokation deck contains three characters and thirty action cards. There are three character cards and 30 action cards in every Genius Invokation TCG deck. Cards for charactersThey are openly placed on the table. This is the They’re used to attack opponents, but they also take damage. If all three of your opponent’s character cards are destroyed, you’ve won the game. The action cardsThey are, however, kept in your hand. Character cards have a set amount of HP The top-left corner shows the three abilities. normal attackAnonymous elemental skillAn, an Elements of burst. The cost of these abilities can be paid with dice. More on that below, but let’s take a look at ability cost first:
- Normal attackOne die for a matching element costs $1, and two dice for an unaligned one.
- Elemental SkillThree dice are required to match an element.
- Elemental BurstThe cost of the matching elements varies. Usually, there are three to four dice and a small amount of money.Energy. You can gain one point of energy by landing one standard- or elemental skill strike.
What about the rest? dice? Every round of Genius Invokation TCG starts by rolling eight dice that display the game’s ElementsYou should use numbers instead. The other side is an Omni elementThe digit 0 can be used to represent another element. Once you’ve got your dice, exchange them for character abilities. If you want to use Kaeya’s elemental skill, for example, you need three cryo dice (or additional omni dice).
Some action cards can also be referred to as dice. It doesn’t matter if the card number is white. The dice can only be used if they are the same element. If it’s black, you may use any dice. How a Genius Invokation game TCG looks
Playing a game can be the best way to get familiar with a new gaming system. Now that you know the basics, here’s a step-by-step Genius Invokation walkthrough:
- Step 1.: Each player draws five random action cardsYou can see their cards. Click on them to see what they do, then decide which ones you’d like to redraw (up to five, with only one redraw opportunity).
- Step 2You can set an Active character. The only character that can initiate attacks is this one. However, it also suffers all inbound damage. Switching the active character costs one die.
- Third step: Roll the dice, then select every die that doesn’t match with your character card elements for a reroll. You must reroll a die that is not a dendro but which you have rolled if it’s a dendro.
- Fourth stepSelect an option ActionYou can use this to attack. Your active character may not be able to perform this feat. You might switch to another character with the same element as your dice. Don’t forget about the five action cards in your hand either; you can use them, or exchange them for elemental tuning.
- Step 5: You and your opponent will continue to play turns (one action per turn) until you’ve both run out of dice to use. When that happens, click “end round” to go to the next phase, which starts with a fresh dice roll.
Genshin Impact Genius Invokation: Tips and Tricks
These are some Genius Invokation tips before you go to battle against Timmie.
- If you’ve forgotten your characters’ elements or weapon types during the reroll/redraw phases, click the little eye icon in the top right of the screen.
- Don’t hesitate to Switch characters. The cost of creating elemental reactions, energy and dispersing damage is worth it.
- Elemental reactionsGenius Invokation is still alive. To trigger a melt response, for example, you could use a cryo and pyro attacks.
