The Xbox September Update is Coming Soon: Stream Games from Your Console to Discord and More

Team Xbox continues to refine our Xbox experiences, and deliver brand new features based upon your feedback. The update brings you the much-requested ability to broadcast your Xbox gaming to your Discord buddies! In addition, we’re updating Xbox Series X|S consoles, giving you new places to view and redeem Rewards, and providing new wish list notifications to track your games. We’re continuing our commitment to safety on our platform by rolling out Xbox voice reporting, which allows you to report inappropriate in-game voice chat. You can now easily browse your PC library and keep track of the game countdown. Which reminds me… only 1 day until the Starfield launch!

Discord can stream games to Xbox friends

You asked for more Discord features. Starting this week, you can stream gameplay directly from your Xbox to your Discord friends. With a simple click on “Stream your game,” your Discord friends can now watch as you play your favorite console games.

To get started, first link your Discord account. You can then join your Discord voice channels directly on your Xbox. Press the to navigate. XboxScroll to the bottom of your screen and press button to view guide. Parties & chats. and select Discord. Scroll through the available Discord Servers, join a voice chat with your friends and then share your gaming experience!!

Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) allows your TV or monitor to dynamically adjust its refresh rate based on the frame rate of the content you’re viewing to give you a smooth, artifact-free experience while you game. However, if you’re using your Xbox Series X|S for entertainment experiences, you may not always want VRR enabled.

From this week onwards, you will be able to select how VRR is enabled for Xbox Series X consoles or Series S consoles. To select your option, go toThe following are some general guidelines: > TV & display options >VideoSelect VRR from the menu. You can select if you want VRR to be “Always On,” “Gaming Only,” or “Off.”

Redeem Rewards in New Locations

Xbox has made it easier for you to earn rewards with its new reward system Enjoy the Benefits tab. By pressing on the button, you can quickly jump to these pages. XboxClick the button below to view the Guide. Profile & systemThen, select your profile. Get My Reward, where you’ll find your Xbox Game Pass Quests.

The Redeem Reward Catalog can be found directly in your Profile under the Reward Tab. You can check out the Redeem Rewards catalog by opening up your guide. Profile & system > your profile > Get My Reward.

Ask to join your friend’s gaming session

Want to check if there’s room in your friend’s gaming session before joining the party? Now you can go over to your friend’s profile and select the ‘Ask to join game’ option.

You will be notified by your friend that you want them to join. They can then respond with an invite to a game, party, or message.

Xbox voice reporting – support a safer community for all Xbox players

 In July we announced platform-wide voice reporting to give players the option to capture and report inappropriate in-game voice chats. S or Xbox One users can use voice reporting to record a video of an incident in game that violates Xbox Community Standards. The footage is then submitted to the Xbox Safety Team.|S and Xbox One players with the ability to capture a 60-second video clip of an in-game voice incident that they believe violates Xbox Community Standards and submit it as evidence to the Xbox Safety Team for review.

It is designed for the many different in-game conversations that can take place between players. This includes Xbox 360 games with backward compatibility. Xbox players on select English-language market (U.S.A., UK. Canada, Ireland. Australia and New Zealand) can now access voice reporting. 

New wish list notifications – Microsoft Store on Xbox

It’s easier to get updates for your wishlist. Want to be the first to get the game when it’s available? Get notified when games from your wishlist are released and enter Game Pass.

You will receive notifications in both the Guide and a Pop-up when you wish list is available. You can easily pair your Xbox with new accessories.

You can now easily pair new accessories to your Xbox console without having to move from your couch to push your Xbox console’s Pair button. To get started, open the Xbox Accessories app, and use the new “Connect a Device” option.

The Xbox PC app has been updated with new features and faster performance. We also celebrated upcoming titles. You can also get to the Install button faster with improvements in the game detail pages. There are new animations and fonts as well. You’ll also see updates for your Library and Installation queue, including filters for Installed, Owned, and In Game Pass, so that you can quickly find your favorite games. There are also other updates for the Xbox app PC, including a play later list that can be collapsed, as well as a settings menu to help manage automatic updates and your preferred install drive.

The game launch countdown is back so you can track a game’s release to the minute – no more guessing! You can find the countdown on a game’s details page before it releases.
