The Windows 11 2022 Update is Available Today

Today we’re excited to announce PC gaming enhancements as part of the Windows 11 2022 update. Your gaming experience with Windows 11 PCs will continue to improve thanks to the new Controller bar and optimizations for windowed game play.
Meet the new Controller Bar
With the Controller bar, you can access all your recently installed and played games by pressing a single button. You can now access the Xbox Game Bar from your controller, including recently launched games. You can access it by pressing the Xbox button on your Xbox Wireless Controller (or compatible controller) that’s connected to your PC.
Graphics improvements
Windows 11 2022 updates bring a variety of enhancements for gaming and graphics. Windowed DirectX 10 or 11 games will see a dramatic improvement in display latency, auto HDR and variable refresh rate (VRR) for DirectX 10 and 11. These features were previously only accessible when games were run in fullscreen. Learn more about the feature by clicking here.
We also released an updated HDR Calibration App, which allows players to increase the accuracy and consistency in their HDR displays.
As part of the update 2022, there are other features such as enhancements in Auto HDR across a wider range of games, additional enhancements for DirectX12 Ultimate, and DirectStorage support across multiple storage configurations (including RAID 0).
With PC Game Pass, you can play hundreds of amazing games
Games are the key to great graphics and performance. Game Pass can be accessed via the Xbox app on Windows 11 and provides access to hundreds more high-quality, PC games. These include iconic Bethesda Softworks titles like Fallout, Elder Scrolls and many more. [email protected]Games, blockbusters, EA Play library and brand new games are added every day.
You can now play many of these games with higher quality than ever and faster access to them thanks to the Windows 11 2022 Update. Xbox Cloud Gaming beta (for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members) allows you to enjoy great Xbox console games from your PC.
Microsoft Edge now offers new gaming features
This past summer we launched several improvements to Microsoft Edge to make it “the best browser for gamers.” The new gaming homepage gets you right to the action and allows you to earn Microsoft Rewards points as soon as you launch the browser, with personalized stories and easy access to the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) library, including recently played games (Xbox account required).
Clarity Boost, another feature that makes cloud gaming more enjoyable on Windows 10, 11 and 12, also allows you to play in Microsoft Edge. The Efficiency mode also improves gaming performance with Windows 10/11, by automatically decreasing browser resource use when a game is launched. New Gaming homepage allows players to discover their favourite games and interact with them. The Games menu also offers one-click access for casual or arcade games.
