The Sims 4 Is Going Free-To-Play Next Month
Maxis and publisher EA are offering The Sims 4 for free starting next month.
The news is based on a blog post that EA published today. It also revealed EA would hold a Behind The Sims Summit in October at 10 AM PT/1 PM. ET. The Sims 4 also becomes a fully free-to-play title on this day. It seems that the entire team just wants it to be accessible to everyone who is interested.
The blog entry states that “The Sims 4 is now free to play. Our team is more committed than ever in developing new and meaningful The Sims 4 experience for our players. We will continue to create and release packs and kits and Sims Delivery Express drops throughout the foreseeable future.”
The team is expected to share additional information about the transition at its Behind The Sims Summit, which will be held on October 18. EA Play Pro, and EA Play Play Members will enjoy an upgrade when the member-only bundles for The Sims 4 are added to The Play List. The Sims 4 EA Play Edition features The Sims 4 Get To Work Expansion Pack. The Sims 4 EA Play Edition has The Sims 4 Toddler Stuff Pack.
“And last but not least, to our longtime Simmers, we want to say thank you – we wouldn’t be where we are without your continued love and support to help make The Sims community what it is,” the blog post continues. The Desert Luxe Kit will be a free gift for all Sims 4 Base game players from September 14-17. The Desert Luxe Kit allows Sims to create a modern oasis in which they can unwind with elegant indoor and outdoor furniture that is inspired by the Southwestern desert. You can redeem the Desert Luxe Kit by logging into the game. It will then be displayed in your main menu.
