The PlayStation Plus Collection Disappears In May
Sony will close the PlayStation Plus Collection. The batch of PS4 Essentials PS5 Subscribers could download and enjoy for absolutely free, but Sony decided to end it.
In an email sent to subscribers, the message states that on May 9, the 18-game collection will disappear, and subscribers have until that date to add its games to their game library. Sony has not provided any reason why the collection will be closed, but the email clarifies that all other PS Plus perks such as monthly games won’t be affected. Here’s the full message below:
PlayStation Plus Collection is no longer available for PlayStation Plus members starting May 9, With an active PlayStation Plus membership, you can still add the PlayStation Plus Collection titles to your Game Library prior May 9, and continue playing at any future time.
This change will not affect the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Monthly Games, nor any other benefits.
PlayStation Plus is grateful to you for all your ongoing support.
As an additional bonus for PS5 owners, the PlayStation Plus Collection was also launched. It was a miniature version of Xbox’s Game Pass. However, the collection only featured last-gen games. While the number of titles on the collection increased last year, only Persona 5 was removed. These are the current titles that make up the PS Plus Collection:
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Battlefield 1.
- Bloodborne
- Call of Duty: Black Ops: Zombie Chronicles Edition
- Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
- Days are gone
- Detroit: Become Human
- Fallout 4
- Final Fantasy XV, Royal Edition
- God of War (2018)
- Famous: The Second Son
- The Last Guardian
- Remastered: The Last of Us
- Monster Hunter: World
- Mortal Kombat X
- Ratchet & Clank (2016)
- Resident Evil VII: Biohazard
- Uncharted 4, A Thief’s End
- Jusqu’à la Dämmerung
Sony has added two Premium PlayStation Plus Subscription levels last year. These tiers give members access to an even larger collection of games across many generations of PlayStation. Sony might be encouraging standard PS Plus subscribers upgrade to get access to most of these titles, although not all. These games are available to all premium members, but you should grab them now before the May 9 deadline.
