The Outlast Trials Highlights Wicked Experiments In New Gameplay Trailer

The Outlast Trials product description says that the player can expect to experience “mind-numbing horror,” which is what you see in its latest trailer. There is much bloodshed as Murkoff Corporation employs humans to act as lab rats. Saw-like tests. Some cases look more like torture than murder.

It’s graphically overdone but also reminds me of BioShock in terms of tone and storytelling. We’ll see how this narrative ties all these bizarre experiences together. Outlast Trials was designed to be both single-player or cooperative. At certain points the player is clearly free to explore, but appears to use traps to escape and fight back. Two players are seen working together to reach higher ground in one sequence.

It ends with information about a brief closed beta that ran between October 28 and November 1. Other release dates were not shared.
