The Next Mortal Kombat Will Be Revealed Tomorrow

Last week we teased a Mortal Kombat 12 unveiling. Now, it has been confirmed that an official reveal is set to take place on tomorrow, 18th May.

A new Tweet from the official Mortal Kombat reads “Tomorrow is a new dawn” and contains a teaser styled after the previous video, featuring a clock hand that skips past 12 and strikes 1, followed by text reading “It’s Is Time” with a start time of May 18, 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET.

Some fans have speculated the “1” on the clock could mean that the next title is going to be a sort of reboot. Although 2011’s MK 9 already did that, the wild ending of MK 11 (and its Aftermath expansion) certainly paves a runway for Netherrealm to essentially do whatever it wants with the fiction going forward. The 12th MK entry is likely to have a lot of crazy content, even by the standards of this series. 

Mortal Kombat 12 is launching in this year, according to the CEO of Warner Bros. Whether this new game is actually called MK 12 or something else entirely is unclear, but we’re looking forward to waking up bright and early tomorrow morning to see what’s next for our favorite spine-ripping kombatants.
