The Flash and the Arrowverse will end in 2023

Finally, the Fastest Man Alive will hit the brakes. The FlashThe CW ends the long running series with season 9, 2023.

The CW reported that FlashThe network will air the next season on its midseason schedule, which typically starts in January. It was originally created as a spin-off of the great success in 2011’s. ArrowIt was officially transformed into an entire DC Universe on a small screen. This show, called The Arrowverse, is the final one in this universe.

The Arrowverse, like many comic book properties has been getting more complicated with knotty continuity, a lack of direction and a general lackluster approach to storytelling. But, perhaps, there were even more signs: Recent changes at The CW have shifted the focus from DC properties. The network currently has only three DC Comics series, none of them in the Arrowverse. StargirlThis takes place on an alternate Earth. Superman & Lois, This was established recently as an independent show, but similar to the Arrowverse and the non-Arrowverse. Gotham Knights

Thus, The Flash‘s abbreviated 13-episode final season will also serve as a farewell to the Arrowverse, an unlikely TV experiment that in some ways — especially given the tremendous demands of 20-plus episode broadcast seasons — might ultimately be more logistically impressive than the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, The Arrowverse already had a Multiverse Saga of its own — the MCU is just playing catch up.

The Arrowverse will live on. In ten years, we look forward to a reunion.
