The Dropout trailer: Amanda Seyfried as Elizabeth Holmes

The first trailer for Hulu’s The Dropout We dive right into the scandal surrounding Elizabeth Holmes (tech CEO) behind now-defunct Theranos. Forbes named Holmes the youngest female billionaire and most wealthy in 2015. Holmes was later exposed for fraud and was convicted.

The DropoutThis podcast was created by Rebecca Jarvis of ABC Audio in 2019. Kate McKinnon had been originally set as the star of the show, but she quit without explanation, and Amanda Seyfried took her place. In addition to Seyfried — who does a great imitation of Holmes’ infamous affected lower-pitched voice — the show stars Naveen Andrews, William H. Macy, Lauren Metcalf, Elizabeth Marvel, Stephen Fry, and Sam Waterston.
