The Biggest Modern Warfare III News From Today’s Call Of Duty Next Livestream
Call of Duty Modern Warfare III, the popular new first-person shooting game, was the focus of today’s COD Next Livestream. It featured details on the multiplayer modes, warzone, and zombies. We have a list of all major announcements, in case you couldn’t make it to the long event or want a quick recap. The COD Next Showcase has revealed the major Call of Duty Modern Warfare III news.
Multiplayer
Call of Duty’s most popular feature is now bigger and better than ever. 16 maps will be included from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009, which are now compatible with the newer modes like Hardpoint or Kill Confirmed. Ground War will allow players to spread out across larger areas. Large-scale maps are also being added.
Gear items have been created from Perks. Wear gloves or boots to change reload speeds or steal items from your enemies. Use gear to resist explosions and reduce flash grenades. Modern Warfare III lets you “completely remix” a weapon with the Aftermarket Parts. This makes gunsmith mechanics more personalized. After unlocking these parts, you must have completed a certain challenge and reached the maximum level of a weapon. Call of Duty’s blog has more information about this feature.
Several features, including the map-voting feature, classic red-dot-minimaps, and health boosters up to 150, are still available. They will also have access to more data and live longer. Tac-Stance also offers a brand new shooting style. It’s more accurate than ADS but has a wider spread. This is a good option for aggressive players. There have been a number of quality-of life improvements, including increased mantle speeds and faster slide speed. New animations were also introduced for reloading and canceling slides.
Modern Warfare III will introduce a new mode called Cutthroat. Three teams of three will compete in this intense mode at close quarters to see who can win. The game allows custom loadouts with a flag that moves and 3 way firefights.
Zombies
Modern Warfare III brings back Zombies – a popular mode from fifteen years earlier. This time, Zombies is going open-world with the largest map yet, complete with vehicles. As soon as you enter a Zombies, you will join one of several teams. You can choose to cooperate with these squads. Over time, you’ll also have to avoid the Aether Storm, which will slowly consume the map – and you alongside it.
The game is built for long-term playability, and you will be able to acquire blueprints and new weapons which increase your chances of survival. You can also store your weapons so that you start the next game with your favourite assault rifle, or iconic raygun. You can also start your game with an upgrade, such as the Juggernog that extends life.
The map is not just a zombie-filled zone. You will also have to face mercenaries that are hired by the main antagonist of the game. If you survive long enough, you might even come face to face with “one of the biggest Zombies creatures to ever appear in the mode” and learn the truth about Operation Deadbolt, your reason for braving this apocalypse.
Warzone
Urzikstan’s latest map, Warzone, is the most important announcement today. Urzikstan is described as the “Middle East meets Eastern Europe” on Call of Duty’s blog. It will launch in Warzone season 3 this December. Below you will find a list of eleven places to visit on the map.
- Levin Resort
- Popov Power
- Zaravan City
- Shahin Manor
- Low Town
- Orlov Military Base
- Hadiqa Farms
- Zaravan Suburbs
- Old Town
- Seaport District
- Urzikstan Cargo
Warzone’s new version will include horizontal ziplines that complement its existing vertical lines, along with a driveable, reversible train. The player can start, stop, or reverse the vehicle at their command. Warzone offers a number of perks. For example, Shrouded drops a smoke-grenade if your character is downed. Resolute increases movement speed after you have been hit.
Warzone’s update brings with it improvements to the quality of life. When you select gas masks, they are equipped automatically. Contracts are also easier to locate. Players are now automatically equipped with a pistol sidearm when climbing ladders and swimming. Character movement was also sped-up and smoothed. Jumping or crouching will cancel your slide. Shooting while sliding is possible in either ADS or Tac-Stance. As in multiplayer, the base health for players is 150.
You can read the full day’s recap on the Call of Duty official blog. If you’re interested in Modern Warfare III, you can play the open beta this weekend on PlayStation and the following weekend for Xbox and PC as well. The game will be released on 11 November.
