The Best Family Meals In Video Games

Assassin’s Creed is known for many things, but it’s not often associated with tears. Black Flag’s pirate version of the game brought many tears. Black Flag may be one of most memorable pirate games, even though it does not feature any assassins. One of Black Flag’s best joys is being able to sail around with your crew singing songs, finding treasure, or stopping in ports to capture Royal Navy soldiers. Over the game’s narrative, you take new members to the Jackdaw crew and alliance. You eventually have Blackbeard and Charles Vane as well Jack Rackham on your team.

But, as any good pirate knows, the golden age can’t last forever, and that’s the crux of Black Flag. This is personified in a heartbreaking scene during the game’s final hours where Edward Kenway is drinking. Although it is not strictly a meal, enjoying a round of good drinks can make the game just as enjoyable as a full meal. He sees the many pirates who accompanied him along his seafaring voyage. Then, they begin to fade … because they’ve died. Edward has been drinking with the spirits of his close friends. There are meals that can be recalled because they were filled with laughter and smiles. But this dinner is remembered more for the Ubisoft heartache, which was used to mark the end the golden age in piracy.
