Roadwarden

Image by Moral Anxiety Studio/Assemble Entertainment

This adventure is entirely text-based. Roadwarden goes the way of the MUD (a type of text-based RPG) — minus the online components.

With sepia-colored pixels art Roadwarden feels like it’s been ripped right out of the late 1970s and early 1980s. A powerful merchant guild assigns the players the title of roadwarden and asks them to travel to an unexplored peninsula. In this mix of interactive fiction, adventure games, visual novels and storytelling, there will be many puzzles along the route. You can choose from many play options, including a wizard or a warrior. It’s an enticing throwback to the era of adventure-driven PC games.

Roadwarden On Sept. 8, Windows PC, Mac and Linux will release the new version.

Splatoon 3

Splatoon has been an eclectic approach to competitive shooting, with a variety of styles. Splatoon 3 seems to be following suit — albeit with a more overtly postapocalyptic aesthetic. You’ll drop into dilapidated arenas to engage in highly competitive multiplayer matches or fight swarms of salmon that are encroaching upon the land. And of course, it doesn’t seem to be skimping on the quirkiness that the series established from the outset.

After his hands-on experience with the game Mike McWhertor wrote, Splatoon 3 This is going to become a much more positive thing.

The DioField Chronicle

Another Square Enix tactical RPG that’s set to launch this fall, DioField ChronicleHas been compared with Final Fantasy Tactics — However, it is a reactive title where players move units across the field in order to fight squadrons of enemy troops.

It isn’t every day that a developer says that League of Legends inspired its strategy RPG title — at least in relation to how it structures its gameplay around the uniqueness of every protagonist and the skills they’ll be bringing to the table. This is a refreshing departure from other class-focused strategy RPGs such as Final Fantasy TacticsDisgaea.

The DioField Chronicle On Sept. 20, the following products will be available on Windows PC and PlayStation 4: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5; Xbox One, Xbox Series X; Nintendo Switch.

Valkyrie Elysium

Despite the series long being thought dormant — or dead, depending on who you ask — Square Enix has surprised fans with the announcement, and fast-approaching release, of Valkyrie Elysium. We have a lot of details, so this seems to be a drastic change in the gameplay. Valkyrie Profile.

As opposed to its predecessor’s turn-based combat, Valkyrie ElysiumIt is an action-packed third-person game that seems to take cues from Nier: Automata Nier Replicant. Initial trailers were a bit jarring, with some interesting aesthetic choices (the visuals have a more “painterly” look to them), but new footage has made the game look more appealing. Combat is more polished, and it’s even revealed that you can have characters from your travels join you as they fight against formidable enemies inspired by Norse mythology. The role of Valkyrie, the title character of Odin’s Valkyrie will be taken on by players. It is a difficult task to save the world and purify the souls of all those who are involved. Regardless of its final quality, it’s exciting to see this series come back.

Valkyrie Elysium The release date for this update is September 29th on Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Sparks Of Hope with Mario + Rabbids

The tone and philosophy that inspired its predecessor are maintained. Sparks Of Hope + MarioIt promises to add more strangeness to tactical turn-based combat.

This is the previous entry in this series. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle,It proved to be an excellent tactical title. This game showed how hardcore tactical games such as XCOM can be adapted to something more accessible and cute. Sparks of HopeThe attempt to avoid the sophomore slump can then be considered as a form of coping strategy. And who isn’t excited about the iconic Bowser finally appearing as a member of your tactical team?

Sparks of Hope with Mario and Rabbids Nintendo Switch, Oct. 20, will have the release.

Since the beginning, people have been attempting to create a new kind of community. Persona 5 It was an all-pervasive trend to use platforms other than PlayStation. Now, it’s different.

This fall, the Phantom Thieves will be available on Windows PC and Xbox. It won’t just be the base game, either; Persona 5 RoyalBoth platforms will have the game available, so players can start their adventure with all the content that PlayStation gamers had been waiting for. It’s the first of several in the series to venture onto new platforms, and its portability — on both Switch and the Steam Deck — has us worried for our free time.

Persona 5 Royal The release date for Windows PCs, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch is Oct. 21

Gotham Knights

To keep with Arkham Knight’s DLC, Gotham Knights The rotating cast will include playable characters each with their own moves. What’s notable this time around, however, is that said playable cast doesn’t include the Dark Knight himself (at least, that’s what WB Montreal’s marketing has led us to believe thus far).

However, there are serious stakes in this entry. The Court of Owls, a sinister organization, is trying to overthrow Gotham. Batgirl, Robin and Red Hood are taking on the role of detective-vigilantes. You can utilize the entire foursome to tackle missions, and return to the Belfry, the squad’s base of operations, between missions. Rocksteady, the developer is still at work Killing the Justice League: Suicide Squad — until that’s released, here’s hoping that WB Montreal’s second effort in the Batman universe (after Arkham Origins() Sticks the Landing. —Mike Mahardy

Gotham Knights is available for Windows PCs and PlayStation 5 on Oct. 21, as well as Xbox Series X on Xbox Series X.

Star Ocean The Divine Force

Square Enix just can’t stop reviving old franchises, and Star Ocean The Divine Force One of the most surprising revivals yet.

Star Ocean: Integrity, FaithlessnessThis was especially true after the launch of the mobile version. Star Ocean: AnamnesisJapan and North America were shut down. But The Divine Force seems like it’s going to be packed full of action and plenty of planets to explore. The series’ new environment and action-oriented combat may be the turning point, despite the somewhat bland sci-fi visuals. Even though it is less than the majority of sci-fi narratives, this one could be a turning point. Star Ocean games, it’s exciting to see Square Enix give yet another one of its series a second chance.

Star Ocean The Divine Force On Oct. 27, the following products will be available on Windows PC and PlayStation 4; PlayStation 5; Xbox One; Xbox Series X.

Bayonetta 3

Out of the handful of exciting Nintendo Switch games launching this fall, none promise to be brimming with as much excitement and vigor as the one featuring everyone’s favorite Umbra Witch.

While development on Bayonetta 3 went dark for a few years after its initial announcement in 2017, there has been a slew of updates in recent months — namely, new trailers that showcase the new types of demonic entities Bayonetta can summon to pulverize her enemies in style.

Bayonetta 3 also looks like it’s gonna be shaking things up a little bit, with new characters and plenty of mystery surrounding the titular femme fatale herself. It’s driven the Bayonetta community into a frenzy of translating runes, desperate to figure out if the Bayonetta shown in the trailer is the Bayonetta we’ve all grown to know and love. Regardless, Bayonetta 3 seems like it could be another great action title in the ranks of PlatinumGames’ already impressive catalog.

Bayonetta 3 Nintendo Switch, Oct. 28, will have the release.

It is possible to get the 2022 version, but it’s not guaranteed. Resident Evil Village Gold EditionSome brand new content will also be included in the shipment. Harvestella

Combat in farming sim/dungeon crawler Harvestella

Square Enix

Are you interested in dungeon crawling and farming or fishing? Harvestella has you covered.

It seems to have a classic JRPG narrative about community persevering through an apocalyptic events a la Final Fantasy:Crystal Chronicles, it’ll be interesting to see if Harvestella can manage the delicate balance between the two genres it’s trying to blend. Its beautiful homestead and colorful landscapes are a great example of this. Harvestella (we hope) Might make up the difference Rune Factory 5.

Harvestella Released on November 4, on Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch

God of War Ragnarok

God of War2018. had the difficult task of recognising Kratos. The transformation from an angry, vengeful Greek demigod and into a father figure who is quiet and gruff was no small feat. The result was impressive.

God of War RagnarokThis film will tell the tale of Kratos’ fatherhood as he leads his son Atreus to greater trials and tribulations.

Based on what we have seen so far, this entry should feature similar sleek combat to its predecessor. It does not matter whether Ragnarok However, it remains to see if the current title will continue its momentum.

This game features enhanced visuals as well as a rerecorded music (featuring live performances). Reborn: Tactics OgreJapanese and English sound options are also available. It is not something that any recent video game looked like. Pentiment. Take visual inspirations from medieval artworks (the ones that show knights riding snails). PentimentIt is a game of murder-mystery in which you collect clues from your fellow villager and question them to find out the truth about murders that have occurred at the abbey. There are no branching dialog paths. PentimentDifferent puzzles are used to maintain players’ interest in both the narrative and gameplay.

What’s more, knowing Obsidian’s track record, it could be something of a sleeper hit — especially since some of the team involved had a hand in the creation of classic Black Isle titles like Icewind Dale IIThe beloved classic cult film New Vegas, Fallout.

Pentiment In November, the Xbox One and Windows PC versions of this software will become available.

Love Shore

Characters in the cyberpunk visual novel Love Shore

Perfect Garbage

Kickstarter: Announcement Love ShoreQuickly, the company received all necessary funding (and more!) to continue its development cycle. And it’s easy to see why. Not only does this visual novel feature interesting character designs and neon-lit environments — it also purports to be a more subversive take on the cyberpunk genre.

You can take on the role of either Sam or Farah as you unravel the mysteries of Love ShoreA futuristic city where society changes when night falls. There are more NPCs than you can meet, but it is possible to romance and even encounter Old Gods. The mystery surrounding this city never sleeps makes for a fascinating adventure.

Love Shore will feature more than 24 different endings as well as eight distinct storylines. That could provide enough entertainment for even diehard visual-novel fans. Truly subversive entries in the cyberpunk genre are few and far between, and we’re hoping that Love ShoreOne of them.

Love Shore This fall, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X will release the software.
