TFT set 6.5 adds Silco, Renata Glasc, new augments, and more

The big 6.5 mid-set details have been finalized after months or even years of hinting and teasing Tactical Teamfighting The overhaul is here and promises to be the most significant mid-set adjustment yet. TFTRiot Games revealed Tuesday that they are adding 20 more units to the game, plus more than 80 augments and tweaking other aspects of the game in order to keep it fresh.

Changes in units

Let’s get the two big-ticket ones out of the way first.

Renata Glasc, a tall woman with black and gray hair, a white suit and dark vest, stands in what looks like a toxic waste.

Riot Games

Renata will become a Chemtech Scholar at four costs. Her ability will send a “toxic wave towards the largest group of nearby enemies,” poisoning all enemies hit by it for the rest of combat. This poison effect reduces attack speed and does damage over the course of time.

Silco is a Mastermind Scholar at five cost. For a brief moment, his ability grants health and attack speed to the lowest health allies. The effect expires quickly and the unit explodes. It is dangerous to try and ally with Silco.

Zeri will also be a major addition. LeagueIn January. Zeri is a Debonair Sniper with a cost of five that will do massive damage and zip around the board.

Traits

The game will now have three new traits: Striker, Debonair and Hextech. Hextech traits will provide shields as well as an increase in damage to Hextech units. The Debonair trait includes a VIP mechanic — if you find a nice and shiny Debonair unit in your shop, that unit will get a special buff unique to them. Strikers get bonus attack damage.

Rival is technically a new trait, as well, but it’s basically just an altered version of the Sister trait from set 6, sticking with the themes of Vi and Jinx’s relationship in Arcane. Mastermind is also a new trait, but it’s just for Silco — units who stand directly in front of Silco gain extra mana generation.

If you stack your boards with Socialite traits, the Socialite trait will be awarded a 5-unit bonus.

Removed traits

Set 6 has eliminated three characteristics that had difficulty finding a permanent home: Academy (alongside all Academy units, Leona included), Imperial (ditto with Swain and Talon), as well as Protectors (all other than Blitzcrank or Kassadin).

Edge of Night will replace the popular Guardian Angel product.
