Supermassive Trademarks Five More Dark Pictures Games
Supermassive Games began its anthology horror series, The Dark Pictures, in 2019 with Man of Medan, and since then, it’s released a new entry every year. Little Hope was first released in 2020. House of Ashes came out last year.
The Devil In Me is up to bat next, and that game will serve as the season finale of The Dark Pictures’ first season. Supermassive Games has semi-revealed Switchback as a trademark. In the same fashion, five more games are now available.
What’s interesting is that Supermassive Games has long referred to The Dark Pictures as an eight-game series. The total number of trademarks now stands at 10. These five new trademarks bring the total to 10. Supermassive games is the only one who knows. For now, we have a pretty good idea of what the next five games after Switchback will be, thanks to a new trademark filing spotted by Twitter user The MarmoladeAs reported by Gematsu:
- The Dark Pictures Directive 8020
- The Dark Pictures: The Craven Man
- Intercession: The Dark Pictures
- Winterfold: Dark Pictures
- The Dark Pictures: Death
And here’s a slideshow featuring images of each trademarked logo:
For most of these, it’s tough to piece together exactly what the game is about, which makes sense considering all we know is the possible names. Some are more difficult than others. Directive 8020, for example, seems to suggest a future sci-fi horror movie. The Craven Man may be similar in concept to The Wicker Man.
We might not know what they are yet, but you can read our thoughts about the series so far. Game Informer’sReview of Man of Medan, Little Hope, and House of Ashes.
