Supergiant Games Announces Hades II Early Access Starts Next Year

Supergiant Games (the company that created Hades and Bastion) has announced it will release Hades II in Early Access on PC through Steam and Epic Games Store during the second quarter 2024. Although the company didn’t reveal any specific dates, it did say that Hades II will be released in Early Access on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store during the second quarter of 2024.
Supergiant revealed Hades II at The Video Game Awards 2020 in December last year, and plans were made to release it as Early Access. This is the same strategy they took with the first Hades before its critically acclaimed 1.0 launch in 2020 on PC and Switch and 2021 on PlayStation and Xbox. Supergiant, about nine months after the release of the first Hades, has now released a new development update for the much-anticipated sequel. In this, it announced the launch date in early access Q2 2024.
“Thank you for your patience as we gear up for this launch,” Supergiant writes in the development update. Why can’t Early Access be launched right now? First trailer showed a game that was quite far along. Hades II has at least the same amount of content as its predecessor when it was launched as Early Access.
We want Hades II to be worth playing as soon as it is available.
Hades II can be added to your wishlist on Steam or Epic Games Store. Supergiant’s Early Access launch date, price, and requirements will be announced closer to the release.
Supergiant is planning to conduct a tech test in Q2 of 2024 with a select group of players. The company says that this test will help it find any issues with compatibility and technical aspects of Hades II. It also wants to make sure anyone playing the game in Early Access has a good experience. This test is “much less in-depth than what will be available for Early Access.” This test will only be open to those players who already indicated their interest.
Supergiant has announced that following the launch of Hades II Early Access, the game will receive several major updates. These updates will add the core content to the game and refine what is already there in response to player feedback. With each new update, the story and characters will grow. After the Early Acess phase, the launch will be 1.0. This version of the game includes the ending to the storyline and the finishing touches. Hades II will not reach its 1.0 release in the timeframe that has been stated by the studio.
“For now, our focus is to keep building core content – environments, characters, weapons, Boons, story events, music, and more – as we gear up for our Technical Test and Early Access launch in Q2 this coming year,” the update concludes. “Thank you again for your patience and support as we work to ensure our first sequel meets our standards, and hopefully yours, too.”
