Super Nintendo World theme park to open in the US in 2023

Nintendo has announced that Super Nintendo World will be opening its first U.S. facility at Universal Studios Hollywood, in 2023.

According to the official announcement

An immersive land, featuring vibrant colors, architectural innovation, and a ride that is unique, will take place in an area newly extended to the park. The interactive zones and rides can be enjoyed by all ages. The entire experience will be enhanced by themed dining and shopping.

The park’s theme is Nintendo, but the main focus has been Mario. The franchise includes attractions, rides, stores, and rides themed after Mario, Toad or Yoshi. It also features rides that are modeled after famous series like Mario Kart.

It was a joint venture between Universal and Nintendo that saw the opening of Japan’s first theme park in 2021. The opening of a Super Nintendo World in Orlando was also planned. Universal Studios Singapore has a future planned location.
