Super Mega Baseball 4 Arrives Next Month With Hundreds Of Legends In Tow
Super Mega Baseball is preparing for the fourth installment of its franchise, which will be released in 2019. This entry brings a host of new features and upgrades, thanks likely to EA Sports, its publisher. Electronic Arts purchased developer Metalhead Studio one year after Super Mega Baseball 3 was released. This meant that Metalhead Studio had more resources to create this new entry.
It is clear what the result will be. The roster includes, for the first time ever in series history (including David Ortiz as the cover star), more than 200 legendary players of the sport. The new roster can be used in various ways to enjoy different modes, such as a baseball league with teams organized according to era. Shuffle Draft lets you create your own roster of Super Mega All-Stars, real-life stars and legends.
Super Mega Baseball 4 includes all the usual features, such as Exhibition, Franchises, Pennant Races, Seasons, Online Leagues, etc. They do include a few new features, such as cross-play across all platforms in the Pennant Race mode and Online Leagues. In addition to expanded player attributes, the suite also features a team chemistry, automatic walkers, two-way-players, expanded bullpens and customizable free-agent pool. New crowd sounds, original and licensed music, new lighting, new cameras, new sound effects, voiceovers and more are all part of the audio-visual upgrade.
Super Mega Baseball, a series that has been around for years and is just as entertaining as MLB The Show, seems to have gotten a big push from EA Sports & Metalhead Studio with the release of this year’s game. This year’s entry is a big step forward for the series. We will have to wait to see the impact of these improvements on its popularity.
Super Mega Baseball 4 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S (PS4), PlayStation 4, Xbox One Switch and PC from June 2.
