Super Mario RPG Preview – Do Link And Donkey Kong Still Cameo In Super Mario RPG Remake?

In the 1990s, Nintendo was more lenient with their library of characters. Yoshi appeared in The Legend of Zelda at times, and Kirby would be in whatever colour he liked. Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars was released for the Super Nintendo in 1996 with a laissez-faire attitude. Link, Samus and Donkey Kong all made inexplicable appearances in the original game. One of my biggest questions was whether they would be included in the remake. Read on to find out the answers for some of these questions.

The answer to this question is “yes”! Link and Donkey Kong, at least. As I’ve not played to the part of the game that Samus is in, I cannot answer this question. You can talk to Link by clicking the “talking” button after you’ve seen him in his sleeping bed.

It is difficult to tell if the cameo of Donkey King is actually him, as it’s just labeled Guerilla. However, he looks very much like Donkey. Only with a crown.

Nintendo Switch will release Super Mario RPG on November 17.
