Sun Haven beginners guide: 7 tips to know before starting

Sun HavenIt is now available in early access. The full version 1.0 is already out. This means that you can get the game’s charming adventure and farming gameplay on Steam for Mac and PC.

While it’s easyYou can find more information here compare Sun Haven to Stardew Valley, as they’re both immersive pixel farming simulators, Sun HavenIt has tons of content. Stardew doesn’t. There are skill trees and different races. This makes it more quest-oriented.

It’s extremely easy to get lost in the sauce while playing Sun Haven, as there’s no stamina to keep you in check. Here are some tips we have put together to guide you.

There’s no stamina, but keep your eye on the time

That’s right. This means that you can farm, mine and harvest until your heart is content. You can, sort of. There is a midnight curfew that limits your time. However, you’re free to do whatever you want with no constraints, as long as you’re in bed by midnight.

If you skip the dialog, make sure that you read it.

The story dialogue will tell you what to do, and some characters who are romantic will engage in chit chat that will help them improve or decrease their relationships with you. If you pick the obviously rude answer, the characters won’t like it, so don’t just go clicking willy-nilly to get through the words. Take a look at the text and make sure you are making the correct choices.

Keep your crafting station humming

Your raw materials like wood and ore will need to be converted into planks and bars before you can really use them, but you don’t want to have to wait on them to be made. To avoid waiting, make sure to keep your furnace and crafting stations stocked with basic materials.

Don’t forget to replant some trees

After clearing out the farm, be sure to choose a section of it to plant trees. Lumber is an important resource, so you don’t want to have to scour around too hard for it.

Make sure to keep track of what your museum requires

Sun Haven has bundles that you can fill in to get special rewards at its museum. You’ll definitely want to take a peek in and fill in what you can for some free loot. Some of these things require you to plant season-specific crops, so you’ll want to know what to expect ahead of time.

Relax with stories and quests

The majority of main story quests are easy to complete. While it can be tempting to hurry through these quests, you might find it easier to do so slowly and carefully. Although the story unlocks new areas and new farms, managing multiple farms can prove overwhelming for one person.

All these areas and farms can be unlocked, and you can then choose one of the smaller ones. You will notice on your journey to these expanded areas, you’ll run into some high-level monsters, so you should be mindful of that, too.

Farming isn’t the be-all-end-all

In some other farming simulator games, farming is THE definitive way to make money, but in Sun Haven, money isn’t too much of a problem. While you need more money to expand your house, a lot of things are purchased with other special earned currencies, and you don’t necessarily even need money to upgrade your tools.

You can go ham while farming, but with the lack of an automatic watering system until later-game, it’s hard to keep up with.
