Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Gameplay Debuts At The Game Awards

Rocksteady unveiled the first gameplay trailer of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during The Game Awards. In it, we get to see how the unlikely team of villains gets around Metropolis and the ways they deal with Brainiac’s hordes of mind-controlled soldiers and other eldrich-looking monstrosities.

But the film didn’t turn out as planned. Amanda Waller, Debra Wilson’s Amanda Waller, hacked into production and came on stage to speak with Geoff Keighley regarding the release of classified information. Even though she was threatened, she allowed us to see the game. It’s not clear why, I am not security expert.

The extended trailer gave us a fantastic view of the Squad’s combat and mobility capabilities. Harley Quinn uses what appears to be batdrones for her maneuvers around the battlefield and in the air. Machine guns, explosives, as well as her trusted baseball bat, are some of the weapons she employs in fights. King Shark is shown climbing buildings and leaping far distances, on top of chomping foes with his big ol’ shark mouth when he’s not slicing fools with sicles or mowing down fodder with a chaingun. Captain Boomerang can teleport using his boomerang, slide, and take double-jumps to get around quickly. He also takes a shotgun in hand to work over crowds. You’ll also be amazed to learn that Deadshot has many guns. There are tons of them. He also shows his flying ability thanks to a jetpack.

We also get a taste of the narrative with Captain Boomerang taunting The Flash in a video, which predictably ends with him getting tagged in the face by the scarlet speedster. We may have seen the most distorted Barry Allen yet, but it is possible that he might not be feeling all that great. It seems like he has something purple on his face and eyes, and is very upset. It’s possible that he is a Saiyan. Flash, we see you had Kamehameha charging up and are now into it.

The release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is scheduled for 2022.
