Street Fighter Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair Is Doing The World Warriors Justice

Wizards of the Coast and Capcom announced last year a partnership to produce a series of Universes Beyond Magic: The Gathering Cards that are based on Street Fighter. Yesterday saw the unveiling of the complete Secret Lair set, which featured eight new mechanically-designed Magic cards that represent the eight original Street Fighter II characters. They all look great and are very similar to their Street Fighter II counterparts.

Every card seems to have been carefully crafted in order to imitate their fighting style within Magic’s ruleset. Ryu can deliver devastating attacks while Ken can add some heat to his beefy attacks. Multikicker usage by Chun Li is nothing more than a Chef Kiss design. Dhalsim, who has plenty of reach and can draw cards well, will take control of Commander games the way Street Fighter matches. E. Honda is my favorite, as he encourages you to have a wide deck of creatures. He can also buff up your deck. one hundredattack. All of this is just fun.
