Stray Gods: The Role-Playing Musical Release Date Delayed One Week

The premiere of Stray Gods The Role-Playing Musical will be delayed one week. 

Originally scheduled for August 3, the musical role-playing game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 4, Xbox One. Here’s what Humble Games and Summerfall Studios have to say about the Stray Gods delay: 

“We’re so excited – Stray Gods is under a month away! We’re counting the days and we know you are too, but we need to make a slight adjustment to the calendar. We’re moving our launch date to August 10th, 2023. Stray Gods is launching on 10th August 2023. Baldur’s Gate 3 is hotly anticipated (by us, too!) Stray Gods will be celebrated by our fans. 

We want all players to have the option to use their device of choice at launch. It’s a big undertaking, even for an independent releasing its first game. We can achieve performance parity across all platforms by adding this extra week.

We’re so excited to share Stray Gods with you and we hope you’ll join us on August 10th to play and celebrate this game we’ve poured so much love into!”

Stray Gods can be described as a musical role-playing game where you choose the lines for songs. It’s similar to selecting dialogue in a RPG. The music is composed by Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory (Journey, The Pathless, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate), Tripod, and Montaigne. 

You might also recognize names like Troy Baker Ashley Johnson Rahul Kohli Janina Gayvankar Felicia day and many others. Laura Bailey voices the lead, Grace, a college dropout in the game’s modern fantasy world granted the power of a Muse. This power is what Grace uses to “find out the truth behind her predecessor’s death before time runs out,” according to a press release.

Stray Gods The Role-Playing Musical will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series Series Series X/S and Switch on August 10th, 2023.
