Still Wakes The Deep Is The Next Game From The Chinese Room

Today, during the Xbox Games Showcase we saw the first glimpse of Still Wakes The Deep. The Chinese Room is also known for developing Dear Esther, Everybody’s Gone to The Rapture, and Everybody’s Gone to The Rapture.

Still Wakes The Deep, according to the press release, puts players in the role of “an offshore oil rig employee, who is fighting for his own life during a violent storm and perilous environment, as well as the dark, frozen waters of the North Sea.” It’s a narrative horror game, a genre The Chinese Room hasn’t explored since 2013 with Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
