Steelrising’s Assist Mode is a Unique Take on the Soulslike Genre

SteelrisingIt is set in Paris, 1789. This alternate version of France’s Revolution has a soul-like setting. Spiders are known for their storytelling skills. You will need to unravel various mysteries, overcome incredible foes and discover a twisty version of Paris in order to restore power to the people.

The soulslike genre is still inherently very demanding, and all its inspired mechanics might be tough to jump into, which is why we’re offering an Assist Mode.

SteelrisingYou can adjust several settings which are common to souls-like games:

  • Aegis Damage (your playable Character)
  • Speed at which endurance is renewed
  • Whether XP is lost (Anima Essence) or retained upon death
  • It is so easy to do perfect cooldowns

Following messages received from our fans, who had found Story Mode too complicated in previous games’s game, the topic of accessibility was brought up during development. Accessibility training was offered to the entire team to help them find the right solution. Steelrising. We ultimately decided against having a difficulty mode, but instead to let players set their own parameters to customize the experience.

It is the same game as the base, with the same pacing. The timing and aggression of enemies are also unchanged.

You can activate the Assist mode at the start of the game. It can also be deactivated from any point in the menu. It can be used to assist a particular boss or mob. You should not expect to unlock all of the achievements if Assist Mode was activated less than once per game.

You can also re-assign most of the buttons from the controller.

We are hopeful that soulslikes-averse people will try this first taste to see the real world. SteelrisingIt’s still a Spiders RPG. Steelrising It is now available on Xbox Store Xbox Series X|S. Vive la Révolution!
