Steam Deck OLED Announced – Game Informer

Valve released its upgraded version of Steam Deck. Steam Deck OLED is the name given to the updated handheld, which features several improvements in terms of form and technology. This new device will go on sale the following week.

The device has an HDR-OLED display that produces more vivid colors. It also boasts a larger battery for an increased charge – 30-50% more battery life depending on the game, with Valve pointing out that the OLED screen consumes less power.

This device is also equipped with an AMD APU that has been updated to be more efficient and Wifi 6E. The result of this combination will allow for download speeds up to 3 times faster, as well as a reduction in latency and increased bandwidth. Steam Deck OLED also runs cooler thanks to its bigger fan and improved thermals. In total, this device is about 5% lighter than original.
