Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Continues Cal Kestis’ Quest In 2023

Star Wars Celebration 2022 Day 2 brought us the first information about new Star Wars videogames. It has taken a while for this announcement to become public. EA, Respawn Entertainment and Star Wars Celebration 2022 have announced Jedi: Fallen Order 2. The story of Cal Kestis, a force-wielder in Star Wars Jedi II: Survivor will be continued with this new title.

You can see a teaser trailer for the unveiling below. It shows how the odds are against Cal, and his Fallen Order crew. Of the known characters, only Kestis and his trusty droid BD-1 make an appearance in the footage, though their cohort Greez’s ship, the Stinger Mantis, is seen from the cockpit, empty and in a bad way in a desert. The trailer’s potential antagonist and the mysterious, tube-preserving person are other notable characters. At the moment, no one knows who the mysterious figure is (and folks at EA are staying quiet on the subject for now), but their characteristics of what looks to be a fit guy with long silvery floating in a vat of liquid is radiating cool dude energy like Star Wars’ version of Sephiroth or Mega Man X’s Zero. Already, I can’t wait for the reveal.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the events of Fallen Order, and according to a press release Cal “begins to feel the pressure of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy.” He’ll be able to meet interesting new characters along his new journey. The game will also expand the combat system, which Cal learns new ways to tap into the Force.

Stig Asmussen is the Fallen Order director and will be returning to Survivor. We are working closely with Lucasfilm Games in order to continue the Legacy of Jedi: Fallen Order for Jedi: Survivor. Asmussen explains that advanced technology is being used to enhance Cal’s story and create dynamic Jedi combat. “We are excited to share the story of the game with you all later in the year.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor will be released by Respawn on the PlayStation 5 (Xbox Series X/S) and PC in 2023.
