Star Ocean The Divine Force Story And Gameplay Trailers Reveal October Launch Date

Tri-Ace and Square Enix have largely kept quiet about Star Ocean The Divine Force since its reveal last fall, but that changed in a big way today. We now know that the JRPG will launch in October.

The Divine Force arrives on October 27, exactly one year after it was first announced. The first trailer showcases the plot with a montage of out-of-context story clips that sets the tone for what’s to come in the sci-fi action RPG.

This second video gives a detailed overview of Star Ocean’s combat and characters. One of the two characters is Raymond Lawrence. He’s a fiery merchant ship captain looking for lost crew. Laeticia Aucerius is a princess who fights to save her kingdom. Each hero’s story is different, so a small group of friends will accompany them. The action-focused combat utilizes four party members players can swap between on the fly. The action can be paused or you can fight in real time. Stop Mode allows for the possibility to switch tactics.

You can also watch Raymond’s 8-minute trailer to get a sense of the beginning of the adventure.

Tri-Ace has promised to provide more details in future Mission Report videos. Star Ocean the Divine Force is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
