Square Enix’s Tactics Ogre remake announced for PlayStation, Switch, PC

Square Enix’s remake of classic tactical strategy RPG Tactical Ogre: Let Us Cling togetherThe publisher has announced that the game will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this November. It confirms the months long-rumored leaks, and gives us a sneak peak at the game. The Tactics OgreRebornThat will make the Super NES-era classic available on modern platforms.

According to the game’s official website, Reborn Tactics Ogre will feature “improved graphics and sound, as well as updated game design.” Reborn Tactics Ogre’s PlayStation Store listing (which previously leaked) goes into much more detail:

Tactical battles in pitched combat on 3-D battlefields This completely redesigned AI allows enemies to adjust their strategies to each situation. It provides a battle system which never stops thinking.

– This is the class-wide-level management system. The Tactics Ogre(2010) is now a unit-by–unit system. Theorycraft allows you to explore endless combinations in classes, equipment, skills and magic.

Playability Improvements: Enjoy a faster pace in battle and auto-save, as well as an overhaul of the controls and interface to make the game easier.

– Incredible details about the backgrounds and characters from the original The Tactics Ogre(1995), have been meticulously reproduced in high-definition.

All cutscenes have been recorded in English and Japanese and the music was rererecorded live. These voices give life and meaning to the complicated motivations of these characters, who make up the various factions and changing political alliances in this story.

Reborn Tactics OgreThe game will come in digital and physical formats. The standard edition costs $49.99 while the Digital Premium Edition is $59.99. According to the PlayStation Store. On Nov. 11, it will be available on all platforms.

Original Tactical Ogre: Let Us Cling togetherThe game was originally released on the Super Famicom Japan in 1995. It was later portable to Sega Saturn’s original PlayStation, as well as the Sega Saturn. The game was also remade over a decade later on PSP. The turn-based tactical strategy RPG, a successor to Quest’s Ogre Battle series, puts players in the role of Denam Pavel, a resistance fighter in the kingdom of Valeria, in a branching story with multiple outcomes.
