Square Enix files new Tactics Ogre trademark in Japan

Square Enix applied in Japan for a trademark. Tactics OgreRebornThis has sparked speculation about a re-release of the Ogre Battle strategy RPG series, which dates back to 20 years ago.

On Thursday, the trademark application was made and published by Square Enix on March 31. Square Enix is yet to announce any new Ogre Battle games. Something labeled “Tactics Ogre Remaster” showed up in a huge leak datamined out of Nvidia’s GeForce Now streaming subscription service back in September. At the time, fans thought it may have been an indication of a Final Fantasy Tactics Square Enix did not confirm nor announce the release of the remaster.

Square Enix recently launched its latest game, “Remaster/Remaster” on Thursday. Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers EditionFor Nintendo Switch, there is a remaster for the 2000 JRPG called. Remakes and modifications of Dragon Quest 3RPG that is cult-hit You Can Live One Live are also on the way, both in the “HD-2D” style.

Ogre Battle, a series of tactical RPG and real-time strategy games that focuses on Ogre Battle was created in 1993. Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen Super Nintendo. Ogre Battle was remade in 2000 and 1999 (the latter launched in Japan) and there were also spinoffs, Tactics Ogre and Ogre.
