Splatoon 3 is already record-settingly huge in Japan

The third installment in the Splatoon franchise was sold to over 3.45M units within a period of 3 days in Japan, according to a press release. Splatoon 3 VGC claims that it was the biggest Japanese game launch and the best for Nintendo.

Splatoon’s first game was released on the Wii U in 2015. It marked an unusual new Nintendo IP. It is set in an alternate world where beings can change from humanoid to cephlapodic form and battle each other using ink. This game was a hit, and many people were drawn to its innovative third-person shooting genre. Nintendo Switch brought out the second title in the series in 2017. It refined the gameplay and extended the storyline.
