Spirited Away: Live on Stage comes to theaters in the US in spring 2023

It is simply stunning Get Spirited Away GKids is releasing a stage production. The movie version of the play was filmed during the production’s 2022 run at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo. The film is based on Studio Ghibli’s critically-acclaimed movie of the same title. Get Spirited AwayChihiro is a story about a girl called Chihiro. She finds herself in a bath house that houses spirits and must escape to save her parents and herself. The stage production uses puppets and practical effects to recreate the movie’s iconic characters and beautiful visuals.

Because most of these roles were twice cast, the theatrical release will feature two separate film performances. Character actor Mari Natsuki (who originally voiced Yubaba the bathhouse owner and Zeniba the twin in the film) will return to the roles as the stage version, while Romi Park takes over the role of the voice actor.
