Sony Unveils Limited Edition LeBron James PlayStation 5

PlayStation announced the launch of a new partnership initiative, PlayStation PlayMakers. The console giant will partner up with celebrity fans of the brand to “celebrate their passion for gaming and PlayStation” by creating unique experiences for players. LeBron James (NBA superstar) is just one example of a famous name who contributed to the design of a special edition PlayStation 5. 

James designed the special console and DualSense 5 control unit. It will only be released in select countries. The hardware is adorned with artistic elements (including obligatory crowns) and personal inspirational messages by LeBron. There’s no word yet on the price, but you can only pre-order the console through direct.playstation.com. This year. Visit the PlayStation Blog to read LeBron’s thoughts about the project.

Other big names involved with PlayStation PlayMakers include country music star Jimmie Allen, actor and comedian King Bach, and other professional athletes such as BMX’s Nigel Sylvester, WNBA All-Rookie NaLyssa Smith, NFL stars Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb, French football freestyler Lisa Zimouche, and Belgian football star Romelu Lukaku. This initiative is similar to McDonalds’ recent celebrity-branded menu items. Who knows what we can expect from them and other names in the future?
