Sonic The Hedgehog Runs Amok In Roblox In A Partnership Between Sega And Gamefam

Sega and Gamefam Studios, Prolific Roblox’s collaborators have teamed up to bring Sonic the Hedgehog onto the Roblox platform. Sonic being in Roblox isn’t just an important deal, according to a release. Game Informer, this is the first time a “AAA character gaming character has been officially featured on Roblox.” 

Roblox’s Sonic Speed Simulator allows you to run as Blue Blur with his friends. In it, players can level up and increase their speed while running through “multiple unique worlds” and racing against friends for rewards. These rewards can include stat boosts, pets and Sonic skins that you can dress up. Gamefam plans weekly updates, as well as an exclusive community Sonic the Hedgehog skin if the game reaches 10,000 players on Roblox.

Gamefam CEO Joe Ferencz said, “We worked closely to create an official Sonic the Hedgehog adventure on Roblox which will authentically delight the hundreds-of millions of Blue Blur fan around the world,” in a statement shared with Game Informer. We are proud SEGA trusted our team of talented creators with Sonic’s success and delivered the best looking, fastest-ever Roblox game. Gamefam also partners with Mattel and Ubisoft for other projects.

According to the Sonic Speed Simulator website, it is currently in closed beta. This official partnership allows you to run a few miles in Sonic’s shoes.
