Something Changed On Fortnite’s Map Today

Fortnite’s shop is updated every day at 4:00 p.m. CT. There are new skins and emotes available, as well as gliders for purchase. However, the game map can change without notice. Today, this happened in a slightly different way. A new circle of dirt can be found just to the east of Logjam Lumberyard. A large driller is seen at the landmark Mole Team Omega, where IO guards are present. This is the Imagined Order better known by IO. They appear to have drilled through the island.

It’s possible that there will be more IO troops visiting the island in coming weeks and days, which could lead to a new story. This could link into The Foundation unlockables counting down, currently standing at 30 days.

You should bring a weapon if you plan to visit the drill site. The IO will fire on you as soon as they spot you. A large cache of weapons can be found by looking for tents. The launcher is located on the opposite side of dirt pile. You should be able make quick escape once you have gotten the rare loot.

Epic is a great idea. I cannot wait to see what Epic does next. Although we’re still waiting on tornadoes or the strange purple six-legged monster, the arrival IO is a welcome surprise and should result in a new antagonist.
