Six Games To Watch From The Future Of Play Direct

Glitch’s Future of Play Direct is back for its third year, providing plenty of first looks,  premieres, and launch announcements for a bevy of games. A.I. V-tuber hosted the direct. broadcaster Melios, showcased new trailers featuring a glut of different genres and unique premises. We chose these trailers.

Boyfriend Dungeon: Secret Weapons

This dungeon crawler and dating sim hybrid officially launched last year and came with the promise of a free update complete with a new dungeon and love interests. We finally have a chance to see it. The new trailer introduced us to Hammer Laleh, who has a special ability called “the death spiral.” Axejohan, who was briefly introduced in the main title, will also be returning to our hearts. Unsurprisingly, his special dungeon ability is “the swing.” We also met a dateable villain: the whip-wielding Dr. Holmes, who looks as scary as she sounds. Dr. Holmes was concepted by former Ghostwire: Tokyo director Ikumi Nakamura, and is voiced by Twitch streamer Loserfruit. The fun swings in this summer on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC.

Hill Agency: Decay/Purity

We were intrigued by the announcement trailer of this new cyber-noir detective title. You play the role of P.I. Maygeen Hill takes on the simple case of a murder victim and leads you to a mine of conspiracy theories in the Risen City. Your sleuthing abilities will allow you to search for the truth and interview suspects. You’ll also need clues to help find answers. Hill Agency: Purity/Decay launched on August 31, for PC.

Creature Keeper

The adorable, retro-themed monster-taming video game has been a long time in our sights. It allows you to fight with creatures that you have met in real time. To get your party stronger, you cook them delicious food, craft trinkets, and earn power-ups via your pocket garden. The trailer shown at Future of Play provided an in-depth look at some of the monsters you’ll tame along your journey, which include a bat, frog, bird, wolf, and more. Creature Keep will be available on PC and consoles but there is no release date.

Psychroma

Tense and haunting. trailerDebuted in this story-driven side scroller that you use as a digital medium. The past must be confronted by putting together the broken memories in a cybernetic household. You must also exorcise ghosts from the machine. While the story is interesting, its chilling structure shines. It’s obvious that any game which tells you to leave the house quickly has something more sinister. Overall, the game looks quite trippy. Psychroma has been limited to the PC.

Love the Shore

Future of Play today announced the platform and release date for the visual novel. Love Shore will take place in the cyberpunk capital of New York, where cyborgs, humans and gods all fight for their love. The choices you make can decide whether someone is your friend or foe. Either Sam or Farah can be your character. They are both learning as much as the dark secrets of their city. Love Shore has eight charming characters and a cast that is entirely LGBT+. You can expect multiple endings, and many different paths depending on which choices you make. Love Shore will officially launch on October 22nd for Xbox and PC.

OU

OU’s pen-drawn art style is immediately striking, and Future of Play gave us a new trailerIt will allow you to enjoy it even more. OU wakes up in a new world without memories. Zarry, a flame-throwing possum named Zarry is his only guide. OU is contending with more than just amnesia, however, as a specter, who looks just like him, is haunting him at every turn. All of the characters OU encounters are there to change the story and how it ends, meaning his interactions with them are probably pretty important. OU will be available on Switch and PC sometime during the year.
