Silent Hill finally returns in a reveal this week

Konami will unveil the future for Silent Hill after many leaks and rumors. It is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 5th at 5 pm EDT.

Masahiro Toto, who was the monster designer and art director for the Silent Hill Games’ first three games, is now retired. retweetedThis announcement. Ito confirmed in 2020 that he was working as “a core member” of a development team on a new game. Ito had signed an artwork piece in the images leaked this year. It purportedly was from Silent Hill.

These photos are believed to be of a P.T.Playable teaser in the style of Silent Hill. South Korea’s game ratings body recently rated a game called Silent Hill: The Short Message.

A remake of “The Hunger Games” is also rumored to be in the works. Silent Hill 2Made by the Polish horror expert Bloober TeamLayers of Fear(which announced last year a partnership agreement with Konami). The third project is an episodic series that focuses on stories. Christophe Gans directed the film in 2006. Silent Hill, has said he’s working on the script for a third Silent Hill movie.

Any and all of this might be revealed on Wednesday; it’s even possible we’ll see the release of the reported playable teaser.

Silent Hill is a horror series that was immensely popular among fans. However, it’s been dormant ever since 2012 when Silent Hill: The End of Silence was released. Silent Hill: Downpour Handheld spinoff Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The titles weren’t well received. It was time for the high-profile relaunch of this series in “Relaunch”, a video game. Silent HillsThe film was produced in collaboration by Hideo Kojima with Guillermo del Toro and released as P.T. But the game was cancelled in 2015 amid Kojima’s acrimonious departure from Konami and the publisher’s partial retreat from major game development.

The return of Silent Hill is a big moment for fans of the series, and it’s also a big test for Konami, which hasn’t released a major video game since 2018’s Metal Gear Survives —Except for the terrible launch of its soccer franchise rebranded, eFootball. All eyes will be on Wednesday’s announcement to see if it can rebuild players’ trust.
