SDCC 2022: Magic’s Unfinity set will include stickers for custom cards

A special panel was held at San Diego Comic-Con. The Gathering: Magic and the Gathering’s head designer Mark Rosewater revealed new details of the highly-anticipated UnfinitySet of cards. The novelty pack will also include stickers that allow players to make their own cards. It’s a first for MagicThis is guaranteed to delight fans of the card game.

Similar to the four preceding It is not– SetsUnglued, Unhinged, InstabilAnd Unsanctioned), Unfinity It is designed for casual play and not competition. Designers have more flexibility in what they can include. UnfinityIt is set in a futuristic science-fiction carnival with magic monsters fighting with robotics and rocketships. Like any carnival, players must have tickets for rides or midway games. They can also purchase stickers to put on their tickets with the ticket money they’ve earned.

What can stickers be used for? It seems that there are many uses for stickers. The SDCC showed images that included stickers for stats and keywords. There were even whole blocks of text in the rules. The bottom of many cards in this set will have a holographic oak leaf, which indicates that they belong to the collection. UnfinitySet and are not allowed to be used in other formats. The set will include many cards that are legal for use in other formats. The traditional black border will be used on those cards.

UnfinityIt was initially scheduled to go live on April 1. Wizards pushed back the launch date citing unknown complications due to problems with the global supply chain, pandemic and other issues. It’s now expected on October 7.
