Scorn’s Nightmarish Hellscape Comes to Xbox Series X|S a Week Early

Salute to all! I’m Miro from Ebb Software and today we have some very exciting news to share with you about our upcoming game, Scorn.

We thought you might want to get in the mood for Halloween a little early, so I’m thrilled to announce that we are going to be releasing ScornThis was on the 14th of October!

Last week, we unveiled some new gameplay footage from the game’s prologue which you can check out here.

We want you to be able to fully enjoy and immerse yourself in the audio-visual experience we’re creating in ScornSo, by showing you the very start of the game we have given you enough information to get started in the wonderful world of ScornWithout giving too much away. You will be surprised at the surprises!

Scorn It is set in an eerie universe with bizarre forms and somber tapestries. The ‘map’ of ScornThis is a fascinating bio-labyrinth. You can navigate each area by navigating through a maze of rooms or paths. You will struggle to navigate the live world. Scorn You will need to learn how triggers and traps connect to the environment around you and what each action can cause.

Puzzles, shooting, survival, and so much more…


Scorn This combination of survival and shooting mechanics creates an immersive horror experience.

Puzzles within the game form an integral part of the story and are designed not to feel like they were added as an afterthought, so we spent a lot of time ensuring that they fit perfectly into the game’s environment and enrich your experience.

Thought Scorn While the first-person shooting game isn’t for you, it does have some elements which are vital to your survival. The weapons you’ll encounter in Scorn You can give more players agency, and you’ll be able to interact with the rest of the world through an additional layer. If ammo runs low, or an unexpected jam occurs, it can instantly destroy the sense of security and safety that you feel when holding a weapon. Short-term decisions about fight or flight can be affected by a lack of ammunition and restricted inventory. These situations can change how you perceive your environment and create feelings of discomfort and tension. This is what we strive to achieve. Scorn.

Inspiration came from literature and art of all kinds.


Scorn It started out as an individual project. However, the idea was influential on many of the people joining the team that year. The project quickly grew into a large, ambitious undertaking that would take several years to finish. All the experiences our Game Director, art team and other members have over their lives are merged to create this bizarre-looking world.

It draws inspiration from literature, architecture, science, technology and arts. This style is an amalgamation of modern industrial elements and Gothic design. We have drawn inspiration from the works of H.R Giger, as well as a Polish Painter, Zdzisław Beksiński, and from movies from the likes of Cronenberg and Lynch. Our talented and creative art team has created a unique world by handcrafting all of the grisly details. Scorn twist. The combination of the two creates a unique style which is both expressive and flexible.

In Scorn, expect to be ‘Dropped into the World’.


Scorn is designed around the idea of “being thrown into the world”. You begin your experience isolated and lost inside a dreamlike but desolate and decayed world. As the game progresses, it becomes apparent that everything within Scorn’s world seems to have a reason and a purpose… and the big mystery is uncovering what that is.

The unsettling environment is not just a character itself, but also a storyteller. You will have the opportunity to have your take on the story of Scorn by exploring the world and logically trying to find connections between things you see.

It’s important to our team that we keep some of Scorn’s mystery under wraps as such a major part of the experience will come from you reflecting on the game and its meaning.

Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry.

It It is based on the notion of being “thrown into the universe”. You will be isolated and lost in this dream-like environment. You are a part of the unsettling world.

Each location has its own story, puzzles and characters which are essential to creating a coherent world. The game will allow you to explore new locations, gain different skills and weapons, as well as learn how to interpret the various sights.


GAMEPLAY FEATURES

Cohesive “lived-in” world
Scorn is set in an unstructured world that has many interconnected areas. Every region has a maze structure that offers many rooms and different paths. All the storytelling happens in-game, with no cut-scenes to distract you from the grisly reality of the living, breathing world you’re in. But keep your eyes open – the game won’t show you any sympathy if you miss something important on your uneasy travels.

Complete body awareness
Players will experience better immersion being aware of the character’s body and movement. Interaction with the world is realistic – objects are picked up with your hands (instead of just floating in midair), machines and instruments are operated by grabbing the controls, etc.

Management of ammo and inventory
It is important that your loadout be defined. The loadout plays a significant role in keeping players in a higher state of alert throughout the entire game. The player will need to consider when they should fight, when they can take cover, and what their actions mean for the environment. To advance, players will have to adopt different playing styles.
