This animated adult drama follows the crew members of an interstellar cargo ship, who after they survive their crash in an alien world that is uncharted, are forced to fight for survival and build a brand new life, while looking for a return home.

The trailer itself is light on explanation and heavy on mood, featuring a beautiful art style with watercolor hues, sinuous curves, and surreal creature designs that feel like a cross between the iconic “ligne claire” comic art of Jean “Moebius” Giraud and the trippy maximalist sci-fi paintings of Killian Eng. This video is filled with psychedelic images, strange landscapes and characters that are unique and seem to struggle with feelings of guilt or regret. All in all, it’s a stunning showcase of a new original series with high ambitions and a gorgeous aesthetic all its own.

Scavengers reignIt is directed by Joseph Bennett, Charles Huettner and both who directed the 2016 original pilot short. The series will feature Sunita (Glow), Wunmi Moaku (Lovecraft Country, LokiAlia Shekat (Arrested Development). This show has been a long time in the making, and with its debut just around the corner, it’s looking pretty fantastic.
