Rockstar Adds 60 FPS Support To Red Dead Redemption And Undead Nightmare On PS5

Rockstar Games announced that Red Dead Redemption, and the Undead Nightmare downloadable content for Switch and PlayStation 4 would be available in August. While the game played at only 30 FPS on both consoles it looked fantastic. PlayStation 5 users wondered if Rockstar was using the console’s power to add 60 FPS support to the game that is 13 years old. Red Dead Redemption is already available in 60 frames per second on Xbox Series S/X.

Rockstar updated its PS4 version of Red Dead Redemption, including the Undead Nightmare downloadable content, to support 60 frames per second on PS5 through backward compatibility. The announcement was made randomly via a tweet.

Rockstar also added an option in another update to allow subtitles when the game is first launched. Rockstar has not specified which improvements and bug fixes are included.

You might have been searching for an excuse to buy Red Dead Redemption for PS4 to play it on PS5. This update with 60 FPS could be that reason. Rockstar: Please bring 60 frames per second to Red Dead Redemption II, on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
