Resident Evil 4 remake’s strongest weapon is an egg

Leon Kennedy’s vast arsenal is still a powerful punch in the midst of all this. Resident Evil 4 remake.

To this day, the agent manages to cram a surprising number of weapons into his briefcase — anything from rocket launchers to handguns is fair game. While players have plenty of options to choose from, one weapon stands heads and shoulders above the rest as the game’s most powerful weapon. No, we aren’t talking about the popular Red9, we’re talking about the gold chicken egg.

Upon first blush, the egg doesn’t look like anything that could be used for combat. It is mentioned in the item description that it can be eaten to heal. However, you may also choose to sell it to the seller for 9,000 pesetas. I picked it up in Chapter 4 after unlocking the boat. It can be one of your most potent items if used correctly.

Resident Evil 4 remake Ramon Salazar in his mutated boss fight form

Capcom via Polygon

As it turns out, Ramón Salazar, one of the head honchos of the evil cult Leon is attempting to rescue Ashley Graham from, absolutely hates eggs. Salazar will become writhing flesh if you give him a golden chicken egg during his boss fight.

The gimmick was probably a familiar one to many fans of the original game. For those unfamiliar, however, there is a nod in the remake to that trick. To complete a quest called “The Disgrace of the Salazar Family,” you have to throw an egg at a portrait of Salazar in the throne room to complete it.

If you want to try it for yourself, you’re in luck. A Square Lock Box that contains the Gold Chicken Egg can be found in the throneroom. You can grab the golden egg from Salazar and then hold on to it. Throw it at Salazar as soon as you begin the fight.
