Raven Software Lays Off Members Of Its QA Team
Raven Software, one of the primary development studios behind Activision’s annual Call of Duty series, has laid off a number of people within its QA department – some of which recently relocated to Madison, Wisconsin, where the company is based.
Raven team members started posting on Twitter about the layoffs. At the moment, we don’t know how many people have been laid off.
One Raven employee stated on Twitter that “our QA team does amazing work, but this will not just increase their workload but also crush morale.” Separately, the employees said that today’s layoffs were due to Activision promising people for months that it was working toward a pay structure in an effort to boost their wages.
Another employee wrote on Twitter, “This is disgusting.” I’ve seen my coworkers one after another say that they are being fired. They were promised better. They are stars and incredible people who were let go to save money on promotions for everybody else. #FireBobbyKotickInstead,” they stated, in reference to the continuing issues around Activision CEO Bobby Kotick. Recently reportedIt had been aware of the company for many years and neglected to notify its board. Problems with sexual misconduct.
Raven workers claim that some members of Raven’s QA team who were affected by the layoffs today had moved to Madison (Wisconsin) for their jobs. An employee claims that some of the people involved had paid out their fair share for the move.
Based on employees, further reportedBy The Washington Post Shannon Liao: The last day employees can be fired will be January 28, 2022.
Un employee shared that they were all “recovering” from the incident. Many tears. Many people are afraid for the future. Many highly skilled and talented testers are being laid off after years of testing after testing. “I’m just as mad as you are.”
