Raven Software Lays Off Members Of Its QA Team
Raven Software, one of the primary development studios behind Activision’s annual Call of Duty series, has laid off a number of people within its QA department – some of which recently relocated to Madison, Wisconsin, where the company is based.
Raven team members first reported the news on Twitter. They began to post about layoffs and criticize the decision of Raven. It’s not clear how many were fired as of the time this article was written.
One Raven employee stated on Twitter that “our QA team does amazing work, but this will not just increase their workload but also crush morale.” They also tweeted that the layoffs took place today because people had been promised for several months by Activision to restructure their pay in order to raise their salaries.
One employee shared the following tweet: “This sickening.” After being promised improvements, I have seen each of my colleagues say it. These devs are amazing and star workers, they were fired to make it easier for everyone else. #FireBobbyKotickThey said “Rather,” referring to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick’s ongoing problems. This was reported recentlyIt had been aware of the company for many years and neglected to notify its board. Sexual misconduct issues.
Raven employees claim some of those in Raven’s QA division who are being laid off today have recently relocated to Madison, Wisconsin to fill their positions. An employee claims that some of the people involved had paid out their fair share for the move.
