Raise And Breed Creatures In Niantic’s New AR Game Peridot

Niantic Labs is no stranger to cute creatures featured in AR mobile games; it popularized the genre with games like Pokémon Go and Pikmin Bloom. Now, Niantic has a new AR experience called Peridot. 

After the creatures at the heart of the game, the game’s name is Peridots. Peridots (or Dots as Niantic calls them) can be raised from the birth through adulthood. You have the option to breed new Peridots. Because it’s an AR game like Pokémon Go, you’ll be able to travel with your Dots, who will help you find items in the world or can be used for a photo-op at a local landmark. 

You can teach your Dots tricks and feed them. When breeding the Dots, you can mix and match them with your friends’ creatures with different characteristics to create entirely new creature archetypes and combinations to diversify the species further. 

Niantic plans to soft-launch Peridot soon in selected countries and territories, but no specific locations nor release dates have yet been announced. You can pre-register for Peridot on the game’s website to get updates on when it’ll be available. When it launches, the game will be available for Android and iOS.
